SCRIP Program: Thank you for your continued participation in SCRIP. The February order dates are February 7th and February 21st. The orders need to be in the school office by 9 AM. If you have any questions, contact Jennifer Stimac at 913-287-8235 or cnjs317@att.net. You may order online. Checks should be made out to SMCS.
Wednesday Night Meal: On Wednesday, February 1st, the Senior class will be offering a fundraising meal from 5:30-6:30 PM. The menu is BBQ pork sandwich, baked beans, veggies, dessert, and drink. The cost is $5.00 for those 13 and up and $3.00 for those 12 and under. Family price maximum of $20.
Progress Report Cutoff: Friday, February 3rd is the cutoff date for progress reports.
Half Day of School: Wednesday, February 8th, is a half day of school. School will be dismissed at Noon.
NO SCHOOL: No school on February 9th and 10th. The teachers will be attending an educator’s conference.
Parents’ Night Out: Are you looking for a “chance” to get out of the house and take your spouse on a “date”? The Senior Class of SMCS is offering child care, Saturday, February 11th, from 5-10 PM. You may drop off your child/ren any time after 5:00 PM, and pick up any time before 10:00 PM here at the school. Cost for the night is $15 for the first child, and $8/each for any other siblings. We will provide pizza for supper, and a fun evening of entertainment and exercise for your child/ren. Please RSVP to Mr. or Mrs. Bunjer by February 10th.
Candy Grams: As a fundraiser, the class of 2015 is selling Candy Grams and red roses for Valentine’s Day. Details will follow.
Sports Pictures: On Wednesday, February 15th, at 3:15 PM, basketball sport pictures will be taken. We will also take pictures of those who were not present on picture day.

Casual Thursday: Thursday, February 16th is Casual Day. This money helps defray some of the cost of field trips. Students should pay their teacher $1 if they are participating. Please do not wear shorts, sweat pants, or tank tops.
NO SCHOOL: No school Monday, February 20th. It is President’s Day and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: On Monday, February 20th, from 2-7 PM there are Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please call the office to set up a time to meet with your child’s teacher(s).
Field Trip: On February 22nd, the K-3rd graders will be going to KinderKonzert at 11:30 AM. Please send money for lunch at McDonalds that day.
NO SCHOOL: No school on Friday, February 24th because of the MCAA Basketball Tournaments.

Promotional Dinner/Silent Auction: Save the date- April 28th for the spectacular, amazing, splendid Promotional Dinner with the Silent and Live Auctions! Please remember to be sending in the items for the class baskets with the students. If you know of a business or individual who could be contacted for donations of items/services, or if you would like to donate something, please contact Raquel Carley at mamaraquel@hotmail.com or 913-951-1110.
Garage Sale: Mark your calendars and begin saving your items for the Class of 2013’s garage sale on June 14-16. Thank you!
Campbell’s Labels, Box Tops for Education, and Best Choice Labels: Please save and bring these labels in. They provide cash and equipment for our school. (We also recycle pop cans and printer cartridges as fundraisers for various classes.)
Trash bags: We have trash bags for sale in the school office. 16-(Blue) 55 gallon, supersize bags, 25-(Yellow) 39 gallon, large refuse bags, 65-(White) 15 gallon, tall kitchen bags, and 25-(Paper) yard refuse bags for $10.00 each.
