Re-enrollment for 2012-2013: Re-enrollment for the upcoming school year continues.  We are offering an incentive for those who re-enroll by the last day of this school year (May 18, 2012).  In order to receive $50.00 off August tuition for each child enrolled you will need to return your child’s re-enrollment form and the $35 fee by May 18th.  Please get your registration in as soon as possible as this helps the school make plans for next year.

Yearbooks on Sale: 2011-2012 yearbooks are now on sale!   They will be on sale until May 23rd.    The cost is $25.    Place your order through the school office.   Delivery will be at Jr. High/Sr. High Registration in August 2012.    

SCRIP Program: The SCRIP program continues to help our school.  The last regular order date for this school year is Tuesday, May 1st.  The orders need to be in the school office by 9 AM.  You may order online, and make checks out to SMCS.   The SCRIP program will continue throughout the summer, but to order you need to contact Jennifer Stimac at 913-287-8235 or cnjs317@att.net.

National Day of Prayer: Thursday, May 3rd, is National Day of Prayer.

Junior/Senior Outing: Saturday, May 5th, will be the Junior/Senior outing.

Jr./Sr. High Field Trip: On Monday, May 7th, the Jr./Sr. High choir will be singing at the Garden Terrace at 10:30 AM.   All of the Jr. and Sr. High will be going.   After singing, they will be eating lunch at Pizza Street.   They need to bring money for lunch.

Elementary Field Day: Field Day for the elementary is Tuesday, May 8th. Elementary students should come to school dressed appropriately in athletic wear, prepared to participate in games and contests.   They will be able to purchase a lunch for $3.  It includes a hot dog or hamburger, chips, dessert, and drink.

Senior Meal Before Church: On Wednesday, May 9th, the Senior class will be offering their last meal before church from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.  The cost is $5 for those 13 and up, and $3 for those 12 and under with a maximum price of $20 per family.  The menu is stromboli, peaches, dessert, and drink.   Please sign up in the office.

Elementary Field Trip: Thursday, May 10th, the 3rd-6th graders will be going on a field trip.   They will be leaving at 10 AM and will be back by the end of school.   You should receive more details from your child’s teacher.

Kindergarten Graduation and Spring Program: Tuesday, May 15th, at 7 PM, will be our kindergarten graduation and the Spring Program.  Join us for a wonderful evening as the elementary present POWER and our kindergartener graduates.  All SMCS students need to be in school dress code.

Jr. High/Sr. High Point Day: On Wednesday, May 16th, the Jr. High and Sr. High students who have earned enough points will be going to Worlds of Fun for the 2nd semester Point Day.  Check with your student for more details.

Seniors’ Last Day: Wednesday, May 16th is the seniors’ last day of school.

Awards Chapel: On Friday, May 18th, at 10 AM there will be an Awards Chapel to complete the 2011-2012 school year.  You are invited to come.  School is dismissed AS SOON as the Awards Chapel is over.

Last Day of School/End of 4th Quarter: Friday, May 18th, is the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!  The students will be dismissed as soon as the Awards Chapel is over.  We realize that this is an early dismissal, so please make arrangements to pick up your student.

High School Graduation: Friday, May 18th, will be the high school graduation at 7 PM.  Please come and rejoice with us as the seniors graduate.  The Jr. High/Sr. High choir will be singing.   All SMCS students attending graduation should be in school dress code.

AACS National Competition: We want to congratulate Jennie Reynolds, Shawn Pearson, and Rachel Fitzsimmons for their placement at Nationals with their art pieces.  Great work!

Class of 2013 Garage Sale: Mark your calendars and begin saving your items for the class of 2013’s garage sale on June 14-16.   You can bring in items for the garage sale or set up a time to drop them off at Mrs. Stone’s house.   Thank you for your help!

Campbell’s Labels, Box Tops for Education, and Best Choice Labels: Please save and bring these labels in.  They provide cash and equipment for our school.

Trash bags: We have trash bags for sale in the school office. 16-(Blue) 55 gallon, super-size bags, 25-(Yellow) 39 gallon, large refuse bags, 65-(White) 15 gallon, tall kitchen bags, and 25-(Paper) yard refuse bags for $10.00 each.

Drama Camp: Mark your calendars!  This summer Kevin Stone will be offering several drama camps.  The cost is $55 per student.   Each week Drama Camp will meet from 12:30-3:00 PM.   June 11-15 is for those entering 7th-8th grade, June 25-29 is for those entering 9th-12th grades, and July 2-6 is for those entering 3rd-6th grades.  Please see the more detailed descriptions and sign up in the school office.
