Week of December 11th


This is the last week of school before our Christmas Break!  Please encourage your student to finish strong!  There are lots of projects, tests, quizzes and programs to do this week before break!

Praying for one another:  Please add these families to your prayer list this week.  The Garvin family - Patrick (3rd grade), Maria (8th grade); the Redick family - Gabriel (4th grade); and the Ingram family - Thomas (3rd grade).

Today - The elementary will be tired today after a full day of program practice, but we know it takes time to get it all put together!

Basketball practices will be as normal this week,except for Friday, because of the games that evening.

Lost & Found - We have gathered TWO TABLES full of your children's items!  Please come into the school foyer to see if some of this belongs at your house!

Tuesday - SCRIP orders are due by 9:00am in the office if you plan to order any gifts cards through the school.  They should be here for pick up by Friday am.

There will be a Matinee for our All-School Christmas Program beginning at 10:00am.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Please mention this especially to Grandparents that don't like to get out for an evening program.

The Boys basketball teams will be getting their pictures taken (individual and team) at practice (beginning at 4:30).  Please help your son by remembering to pack their uniform into their bag tomorrow morning!

Tuesday - Friday - This is finals week for the Junior/Senior Highers.  Semester exams will be on the following days during their normal school periods:
Tuesday - periods 7,8
Wednesday - periods 1,4
Thursday - periods 3,6
Friday - periods 2,5 (taken during 1st & 2nd hours)
The rest of the class periods will run as normal.

Wednesday - We would like to add a little "Christmas Spirit" into our last week.  Participation is optional, but we hope your child wants to participate!
Wednesday - Wear your favorite Christmas socks!
Thursday - Wear Christmas colors - reds, greens, blues, gold, silver, etc.
Friday - Wear your favorite (ugly or not) Christmas sweater!

The Senior class invites you to a meal in the evening from 5:00 - 6:30pm.  The menu is Fajitas, rice, chips and salsa, dessert and drink.  The cost is $5.00/adult; $3.00/children (12 yrs and younger); or a family deal of $20.00.  Please sign up in the school office if you would like to eat.  Take-out is also an option!

Thursday - Our annual All-School Christmas Program will be presented at 7:00pm.  We trust you have this marked on your calendar and are planning to attend!  The Jr/Sr High choir students need to be dressed and ready to go by 6:30.  Elementary need to be dressed and in the basement by 6:45.

We wanted to remind you of the Teacher/Staff Christmas gift.  If you plan to give towards this, please get your gifts into the office before Thursday.  There will also be an offering taken during the evening of the Christmas program.

Friday - This will be the last day of school before Christmas break.  School will be dismissed at 11:30am.  No hot lunches will be served.  Please check with your student about Christmas parties in their classrooms.  Also, please make sure that your child has a ride home at 11:30, or you have made prior arrangements with the daycare about after-school care.  All students are to leave the school at 11:30 (even basketball players) so that the teachers can finish up their grading before the holiday break.

There will be a basketball game (home) against Blue Ridge beginning at 5:30pm.  It will be Varsity teams only.  The Varsity girls will play at 5:30 followed by the Varsity Boys at 6:45pm.   We encourage you to come out and support our teams!

Saturday - The Robotics team will be having a meet beginning approximately at 9:00am at the Metropolitan Community College (Technology Center),  3200 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111.  Everyone is welcome to come and support our team!

We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  We trust you will take the time to focus on the center of our celebrating - our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ!  We look forward to seeing everyone again on Wednesday, January 3, 2018!
