Week of October 16th

We had a great end of the fall sports season with our Varsity League Volleyball and Soccer Tournament.  Both our teams played hard and came home with the 5th place consolation trophies!  Also, several of the players received individual awards:   Volleyball awards - Donnecia King and Ruth Edmondson  - 2nd team; Maryssa Zink - Honorable Mention; Celeste Davis and Danielle Wallace - Christian Character.  Soccer awards - Daniel Guess  - 2nd team; Shavonte' King - Honorable Mention; Daniel Guess and Angel Campos - Christian Character.  Congratulations to all who participated!

Praying for one another:  Please put these families on your prayer list this week - the Wade family - Kary is in 7th grade, and David is in 4th grade; the Campos family - Angel is in 8th grade; and the Luna family - Leilany is in the 7th grade.

Monday - Tonight, the boys soccer team will be getting together for a BBQ at Coach Micah's house after school until 6:30pm.  Each soccer player needs to bring $5.00 - to cover both Monday and Tuesday's events.

Tuesday -  SCRIP orders are due to the office by 9:00am.

Both the volleyball and soccer teams will have their end of the season parties after school until 6:30pm.  Each volleyball player needs to bring $2.00 to cover the cost of pizza.  This includes all volleyball teams - JH, JV and Varsity.

ALL SPORTS UNIFORMS need to be turned into the office by this Friday (or sooner!).

Wednesday -  The Balfour representative will be coming at 10:00am for the sophomore - senior classes.  He has order forms for your student to purchase class rings, graduation announcements and other articles.  Please ask your child about the order forms.

Thursday - We will be having a Sports Awards/Chili Supper evening to honor our volleyball and soccer players beginning at 6:00pm.  The senior class will provide the chili and fixin's for the evening.  Everyone is welcome to attend!  A bowl of chili (with drink and dessert) is $3.00, or and all-you-can-eat for $5.00.  We will also be auctioning off some of the seniors during the evening. If you have some hands-on work that needs to be done and would love willing hands, please come and "bid" on one of our seniors.  All the proceeds goes directly to the senior class for their senior trip.  You can choose the day you need them for the project you have in mind. (It does not need to be a weekend, they can be excused from a day of classes.)

Friday - Friday is the end of 1st quarter!  I know several projects are due this week, so please check with your child to make sure they are getting all their work and projects turned in on time!

Saturday - Our Fall Fun Fair is almost here!  Please come and join us for a fun, family event!  We start at 11:00am and go thru 3:00pm.  If you have not let the office know where you can help, please call the office ASAP!  We need LOTS of helpers in order for the day to run smoothly.  We will have the schedule up so you will know which booth and what time you are scheduled.  We really appreciate your help!  Don't forget - each elementary family needs to bring in a large bag of wrapped candy, and each 7th - 12th grader needs to bring in 2 - two liter bottles of pop.  Also, we are asking each family to bring an item for the cake walk - cake, cookies, muffins, donuts, etc.  The candy and pop need to be brought in ASAP, but the cake item can be brought on Saturday.  We look forward to this fun event every year.  See you there!

Coming up.....
Next week, Friday the 27th, is Grandparents' Day!  Your child should have brought home invitations to be given out or mailed to their grandparents.  We will begin our program at 8:30am, and conclude with a brunch and opportunity for pictures.  We will send out all the rest of the information next Monday - so that you don't get confused with this week! :)

Monday, October 30th is Parent/Teacher Conferences from 2:00 - 7:00pm.  Please call the school office to set up a time to meet with your child's teacher(s).  There will be no school on this day.

We have a full week ahead of us!  Hang on....we'll make it thru!  Have a great week! :)
